Awesome Crew and Best Snorkeling Ever

The crew was awesome and very professional. They give great instructions. The food was great! Best burgers. Now, for the snorkeling, totally awesome. It was wonderful. The time in the water was just right. Seeing a sea turtle come up to the surface was the highlight.

I'm glad that we choose to take the early trip since the wind picks up in the afternoon. Fortunately, we were able to snorkel at Molikini Island. That spot is spectacular and you can see so many different fish.

Our family of four really enjoyed our outing to Molokini. My 13 year old was a little nervous at first, but once she got in the water, we couldn't get her out!
Spend a little extra and try the SNUBA. Annie was a great five master for me and my oldest. Absolutely the highlight of the trip for us.
Kids also loved the slide. Great litte extra fun.
Highly recommend. Even comes with a great lunch and all the beer you care to drink when you're done snorkeling!

Captain Jason and his crew were great! Lots of opportunities to spend money on “extras” but no high pressure sales. Good snorkeling reef, very safe and well organized operation. Good lunch for the price, complementary beers/wine. Overall, a great time and we were told a new boat is coming next year. We would definitely sail with them again.

we have enjoyed afternoon snorkel with four winds the last 7 years, it is always great. staff friendly, good equipment (even masks with adjusted lenses) food is great also. a number of trips to molokini some along coral coast when rough water. great time either way. capyain dan a crowd pleaser even let my son sit with him while steering boat ! looking forward to going again !
Afternoon Snorkel Perfection

We chose the afternoon Four Winds II Coral Garden Snorkel (3 hour) and are SO glad we did! The staff was friendly and knowledgable. They interacted with all guests (including the kids). Coral Gardens was an unexpected large reef with a huge variety of fish. The provided snorkel gear was in great shape and they provided floatation belts, for those who needed them.
The day's events:
- 1-1:30pm Check-in. Place BBQ/lunch order.
- 1:30pm Pull back from harbor, greeted by staff, photographer, and SNUBA instructor. The photographer has several underwater cameras (of good quality) and GoPros available for rent. The photos are transferred to your device at the end of the charter. The price was reasonable to rent and the photographer was friendly (not-pushy).
- The staff provides each person with appropriately sized equipment and a quick lesson, for first-timers.
- The trip to Coral Gardens is fairly quick and a beautiful view of Maui's blue waters. We even saw some flying fish on the way.
- Once anchored, you have at least 60-90 mins to snorkel. The staff and photographer are present but not intrusive. Safety was definitely priority.
- There is a slide on board should you want to do that.
- All the while lunch is prepared. Burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, chips, soft drinks, wine, beer, etc. are all available once back on board.
- There are two bathrooms on board.
- The ride back to the harbor is slow and steady.
- The photographer provides you with an ipad to review the images you've taken and uploads the images to your device. You have the option to purchase the professional photographer images at an additional fee, including the ones he takes of you while you're swimming.
- Again, the staff is friendly and helpful.
For a fairly "quick" few hours, we feel that the trip is a must-do! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it. Our kids (7 and 12) said it was their favorite part of our time in Maui!

Great Adventure on The Four Winds ll

We booked this snorkeling adventure at the last minute on a recommendation from som friends and are glad we did. The staff made sure we had the correct snorkeling gear and Sara did a great job making sure everyone who had not snorkeled before or were anxious about doing so understood how everything worked and what to expect so everyone was comfortable going in the water. All the staff was great and very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. There was plenty of food and drink and the Captain took time for us to see a pod of Spinner Dolphins on the way out to the crater and the first Humpback mother and calf of the season on the way back. He did a great job explaining what we were seeing and included a lot of interesting facts. He was also very funny at times as were other members of the crew which added to the fun. The entire experience was fantastic and we plan on recommending this trip to all of our friends and family traveling to Maui.

Thankfully they had an afternoon snorkel trip :) it was just the right amount of time for snorkeling and cost less than the longer early trip. All equipment provided along with basic instructions. Very safety conscious crew with several actually in the water actively watching us. After snorkeling there was a very generous bbq lunch with several things to choose from. An open bar also with a good variety. I saw so many colorful fish swimming in the coral in the nice warm water.

It isn’t often I am at a loss for adequate words but I cannot express how grateful I am for our FourWinds adventure. I am a hyperverbal autistic woman with ADHD. I only told that to one crew member and she was super sweet about it. The rest of the crew were just amazing, despite not knowing all of my difficulties.
For starters, this trip happened on a windy and rainy day. The crew made sure they were informed about any hazards and made doubly sure that the water was still clear enough for us to all enjoy ourselves. Much like we were reassured, the water further from the cove was calmer and it wasn’t raining. We saw several whales along the way and Captain Cavinni (I apologize about any terrible spelling errors) was fantastic and made sure to stop so we could see them.
Dane was super sweet and provided lots of refreshments throughout the afternoon. The food was tasty and grilled on the boat. Some of the crew highlights:
Chris – our snuba instructor was an absolute sweetheart. He helped me get my flippers on in the the water, reassuring me and calling me Cinderella. He also stayed with my husband who had some initial anxiety. He made sure we were both comfortable in the water before beginning his tour. I can’t express how grateful I am for how comfortable he made me. I am very self-conscious but Chris is such a great guy that he just helps everyone feel good, and chill.
Phillip – what a fun guy. He’s hilarious and kind (albeit snarky – which we loved). He has an awesome octopus hat. He also made sure to help us feel comfortable. At one point, on the way back, I was hanging out at the railing just enjoying looking at the water. Phillip came to check on me because he wanted to be sure I was okay. It doesn’t seem like much but I had chatted his ear off and he was so sweet for coming to check on me.
Harold – I cannot say enough good things about this photographer. He was funny, talented, and super kind. He got great shots and videos of us and the various sea creatures and included those with our package. He also gave us some great tips on where we could see some sea turtles on a beach even though the weather was going to be crappy for a few day. He was correct and we did get to see turtles. He even included a video of one he saw swimming that day just in case.
The whole experience was fantastic, even with less-than-ideal weather. I would go with this crew every day if I could! Thank you all for such a great afternoon! Love from Tara and Ryan!

Worthwhile excursion

Saw 'tons' of whales and some dolphins. Food was good and crew entertaining and helpful. Would suggest a red wine choice.

Best snorkeling excursion I’ve ever been on. My husband and I have been to the Great Barrier Reef, Belize, the Caribbean and the Keys and this by far was the best experience for both of us. The fish were plentiful and colorful and the reef was diverse as well. The crew was both professional and fun. I learned more on this snorkeling excursion than most and they made sure everyone from the inexperienced to the most experienced had a great time. We also saw lots of whales as it was whale season. Save your money and get a 2 for 1 on this ship. And if someone in your group doesn’t want to snorkel they can still enjoy their time through the glass bottom viewing and floating around the boat. The catamaran is a much better vessel as well to travel to the crater. Don’t miss this excursion if you’re in Maui.

We love this snorkeling tour. It was a smooth ride out to Molokini with the captain taking his time for us to see many humpback whales along the way, which was great. Breakfast and lunch were both great. The pulled pork and cookies were especially good for lunch. The staff was unbelievable and you could tell they all loved their jobs (who wouldn’t). They were extremely helpful in terms of preparing us for snorkeling with a focus on safety and were also a whole lot of fun. The staff was especially great with our four year old, who was skittish about getting in the water, but they helped him get comfortable on one of the floats with a viewing window. The slide and glass bottom viewing area were huge additions for us.

Great staff. Very supportive even though we had no experience. Disappointed in the crater location as there is little diversity in wildlife, basically several small fish and no turtles there, which we didn’t know until on the boat. They offer another boat which goes to a second location which supposedly has a lot more including octopus.
