Best tour to Hana ever

We walked out of the hotel lobby at 6:30 AM to find Jay and that Ford expedition waiting for us. He clambered into the car and made her way to Safeway in Kahului. We gassed up on coffee and weâre on our way through the upcountry making our way around the island from the backside. J knew the road well as he had driven it many times, so we, while a little bit nervous at first, calmed right down, and fell into a wonderful conversation about what goes on in the upcountry. We stopped for a beautiful vista and continued on around making our way to a bee sanctuary. From there to Hana was on the road, but I wouldnât wish it on anybody. Lots of curves, lots of potholes, and beautiful, nonetheless. we made a couple of stops and ended up for Huli Huli chicken on a wonderful beach. After that, we made our way to the black sand and again another gorgeous spot to stop. I encourage you to take the hike. The tour through Hana and on our way back around the west side of Maui. We were fortunate that it rained and so the waterfalls were in full force. The road kept curving J handle it. Well in the waterfalls kept pouring. Final stop to see the turtles, which looked a heck of a lot like rocks, ended a wonderful day. The last part of the trip was the drive back to Lahaina with more stories from Jay. it was an excellent, excellent, excellent day on the road to Hana. Definitely five stars.
Best tour of our whole trip

The whole day was just amazing . From meeting Shaun just off the doc to leaving us at the doc . The best experience of our whole trip to Hawaii . These guys have a lot of knowledge and we learnt more from Shaun about Honolulu and The Hawaii islands than any brochures. We swam in waterfalls had a fab lunch at uncle Russellâs met locals. They even provided refreshments throughout the day . We have told family and friends to book in advance for this tour when they go to Hawaii .

Every interaction with this company has been superb. I booked directly with Mr Storm. He was incredibly pleasant and was eager to talk about our plans in Maui. He gave great suggestions for other vendors and activities. I love when local businesses support each other.
Mana called and texted the night before our tour. He texted the morning of to let me know he was 30 min out. He texted when he arrived. The communication was incredible.
Now Mana himself. Hilarious. Down to earth. Super friendly and knowledgeable. And a local with a localâs perspective. Was great with my kids. Loved him.
The tour was great. Two water falls. Black sand beach. Cliffs. Lots of food. Loved it!
I appreciated the cleanliness and safety. I appreciated our own space on our own time. This was a fantastic trip!
Best thing we did for ourselves on our Family Vacation!

It was the best decision and weâll worth the money to pay for this tour of Hana!! Dustyn was so awesome not only did my husband and I love him, my kids were calling him uncle dusty by the end of the trip! We canât wait to come back and try another adventure with them!!!

Our Road to Hana trip with Maui By Storm was awesome!! We took the full day tour (and it is really a FULL day). Interestingly, we took the route in the opposite direction as other tours that we looked at. We arrived at stops at different times than other tours; and the timing of lunch/snack stops was perfect. Our vehicle, a late model Ford Expedition, was very spacious for 5 adults, and the large windows and sunroof provided great viewing. We were as comfortable as is possible over some very jarring roads.
Speaking of roadsâŠ. do NOT drive this yourself. The road is 1-1.5 lanes, mountainous with tight switchbacks and no guardrails! Our tour guide, Dustyn, was a very steady driver, knowing all the turns, road hazards, blind spots and perhaps most importantly, where the pull-out spots are in the event that we had to back up to allow another car through. Even if youâre able to do this drive yourself, it wouldnât be enjoyable as you would not be able to take your eyes off the road for a second.
Dustyn navigated the crazy road while simultaneously telling us about the areas we were seeing; answering countless questions; and sharing his perspective about life in Maui. We were able to relax and take in the diverse scenery, which ranges from dry and fairly barren to tropical and lush. Dustyn was very flexible and accommodating with last minute requests. We were able to spend more time at some stops, less or no time at others.
This was an expensive tour, definitely a splurge for us. But as you can see from this long review, we found it very worthwhile and it was a highlight of our 2 weeks in Maui and Oahu. It was an an unforgettable experience, made even more special by Dustyn - his friendliness, enthusiasm and humor (we laughed A LOT) added greatly to the trip.
Do yourself a favor and book Maui by Storm now

tldr, My family of four (kids ages 10 & 11) had an amazing time!
Wow! Where to start? From the first moment, I reached out to the very end of the tour, Maui by Storm were the consummate professionals. We did the all-day reverse Hana tour with Luke as our guide. It's a little scary to book a day in a car with someone you don't know. Will we get along? Will they want to kill my kids by the end of the day?
Happily, I took the leap based on the other reviews here. The car was super plush and nice to sit in. Our driver Luke was funny, kind, great with our kids, and so knowledgeable about everything, Maui! We could not have asked for a better and more fun day. In addition to an excellent itinerary, Luke accommodated all of our special requests as we went along and knew all the best places to stop. We jumped off waterfalls, hung out at the black sand beach, and visited all kinds of cool spots that I won't detail here to keep the surprises coming for you.
I cannot recommend Maui by Storm more; you really don't want to do this drive yourself; at a minimum, whoever is driving requires razor-sharp focus the whole time and will miss all the beautiful sites; beyond that, you'll miss all the fantastic knowledge and information about the place you are visiting. You can't ask for a better company to do the tour with.
In summary, if you aren't considering using Maui by Storm for your private luxury Hana tour, you're doing something wrong.

This was the highlight of our trip to Maui! We had a group aged 2-70 and all loved the adventure. Stops were custom to our desires and Dustyn never made us feel rushed. He shared some great knowledge and became part of the family. Our kids warmed up to him quickly, which makes all the difference on such long action packed day. The Expedition was so comfortable and we were able to pack all our things. Dustyn had a cooler for our use and even picked some local drinks and water for us. We even left behind some things and he dropped them back off for us later. The drive along the backside was amazing and I was so glad to experience it at the hands of a knowledgeable and safe driver. Truly an amazing experience!!

Dustyn was the consummate professional, while also having great laughs and interaction throughout the tour. His lifelong knowledge of the island, people, and history was very interesting. Allowed us to sit back and enjoy the different sceneries that you can encounter in Maui, while stopping at various points of interest that we wanted to see.
Awesome trip to Hana with Luke

Luke was a fantastic guide. We loved being driven by a knowledgeable, fun, and experienced person. He arrive half an hour early and we spend more than 11 hours on the road. The sites, tastes, smells, views are incomparable. We started with a stop at fruit farm and had a delicious fruit plate, viewed the 7 sacred pools and many amazing waterfalls, lunched on scrumptious barbecued chicken at Huli Huli. Loved the scenery, learning about the culture, and life on Maui. Luke was a pleasure to be with.

Dustyn was jovial and flexible we enjoyed the day and saw the whole of Maui. The trip was safe and fun. We had a great wood fired pizza for lunch stopped at many sites and took heaps of great photos.
