Observe las tortugas marinas verdes hawaianas en su entorno natural en este tour ecológico de 3 horas para familias. Desde Makena, viajará a Turtle Town en kayak, remando en las tranquilas y claras aguas del sur de Maui, antes de sumergirse en un arrecife protegido y bucear junto a tortugas marinas, delfines, rayas, pulpos y anguilas. Tour en grupos pequeños limitado a diez personas.

Fun and easy kayak/snorkel trip

Great experience! Trip was moved from Turtle Town to the lagoon in Lahaina due to ocean conditions. Our guide, Ryan, was very trustworthy, patient, and knowledgable. He gave great instruction and clearly knows the ocean and islands. We saw turtles, lots of fish, urchins, and a white-tipped reef shark! Paddled out to the deeper water and you could see the bottom up to 130 feet deep. Very fun trip. Thank you!

We were suppose to do our kayak/snorkeling at Turtle Town, but because the ocean wasn’t cooperating, we received a phone call to reschedule and we ended up at Lahaina Cove with Ryan as our guide. Can’t say enough about how kind Ryan was and knowledgeable. He told us exactly what we would be doing and how to do it. We swam with the sea turtles, colorful fish, saw beautiful coral, seals, and even a white tipped shark. Highly recommend. Thank you Ryan for a great t8me!

Everything, what a wonderful experience and Beautiful memories. Our guide knew the area so well to ensure our group had a memorable and safe experience . Carlos was so exceptional as a guide, he made it safe and fun and was very attentive to everyone's needs, we had a large group of 12 but everyone's needs were met. He was so positive, helpful and fun.

John Shappell is an amazing and fun kayak/snorkel guide in every way. Super knowledgeable about the water and sea life…and passionate about sharing what he knows. John took amazing photos and was great at explaining the how-to’s of kayaking and snorkeling. He definitely knew the best spots to observe the turtles etc. Best Maui experience!

John Shappell was amazing from hello to goodbye. He was thorough and inviting. We had a great time, even got a hold a wild octopus he caught very carefully, it was something I never imaginedhaving the chance to do. So many turtles! I know that can be hit or Miss but he had a game plan and delivered. I can’t imagine doing a whale kayak with him but hopefully we’ll find out. He also knew when it was time to head in at just the right time as the waves really developed into white caps, 10 our of 10, would highly recommend and definitely making sure we contact John Shappell next time we’re out. Thanks John!
Oh and he took great pictures, definitely opt in for the picture package, we have wonderful pictures and didn’t have to worry about taking a single shot!

Best kayaking tour and memory with Andres

It was really great tour with Andres for us. We swam with sea turtles and it became our best memory in Maui as a honeymoon.
Andres was super friendly and taught us how to do kayaking and took many photos during entire tour.

John Shappell was our guide. He. Was. Awesome!
Super friendly and had a ton knowledge of the area we kayaked and snorkelled. We saw probably like ten turtles on the reef. He took great photos/videos of our trip and underwater shots as well!! Air dropped them right to our phone on the beach for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this trip if you want to see turtles swimming.

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Andrés. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the islands. I appreciated how much he cared about our safety and the varying levels of nausea that could be experienced. Luckily for our family, no one got sick so we had a very enjoyable time.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and especially our guide.

Turtles, Octopi and Dolphins, Oh My!

We had a great time with John. He made it easy and fun to kayak and snokle- from his explanations to his local knowledge. We were lucky enough to see turtles, two octopi and many dolphins! He said all of that was unusual but I suspect he knows how to create great experiences no matter what!

John was confident and friendly. He patiently gave clear and helpful instructions plus bonus tips and tricks so that we not only had a safe and wonderful experience but took away beneficial information to be better snorkelers and kayakers. (We now know the trick to getting back INTO your kayak after it flips over in the 1st 5 minutes!).
We saw whales off in the distance and turtles, turtles, turtles up close! John was able to hand us a darling lil octopus who made our day when she gently wrapped around our fingers!
He was knowledgeable about all things aquatic and led our age diverse group while respecting the creatures we had all come to experience. John also took the most amazing pictures and videos of us (both above and below water) without missing a beat to keep sharing information!
We would definitely book again on any return visits and highly recommend John Shappell and Maui Kayaks.

We loved being so close to the Humpback whales and snorkeling in the clear waters. Andres was very personable as our guide and went out of his way to make the experience memorable for us. We would recommend the kayaking experience for anyone who is in Maui.

Had a great time kayaking with John! He was very knowledgeable, very patient and very personable. Really appreciated the small group, the personal attention and the safety consciousness. An amazing experience seeing whales that close and right from the waterline. Hope to get out on the water with him again in the future!

John was our fantastic guide. As a family, we have snorkeled in many tropical places, but this was the best time we have ever had. I love sea turtles and I was surrounded by these lovely creatures within feet. John is so knowledgeable and passionate about the protection of ocean life. His passion was contagious. He knew exactly what to look for and where to go. We saw whales, manta rays, turtles, and fish we only have seen in an aquarium. He taught us techniques with our snorkeling equipment that we had never been shown before, which helped us tremendously. He helped us create lifelong family memories and took some fantastic photos. Book this tour, and do not hesitate; it is worth every penny and then some.

Great, fun kayaking adventure. Andres is knowledgeable and very safety conscious. He knows the area and provides personal attention to everyone in the SMALL group tour. A great way to start the morning in Maui. While the whales didn't cooperate, we can somewhere around 10 turtles during our snorkeling. Don't worry about your ability level or lack of kayaking, Andres will make sure you have the training to have a wonderful trip. Best recommendation I can give is that I WILL go again.

John showed us a great morning of kayaking and snorkeling. Having him take pictures and videos (of us and turtles) above and below the water was worth the extra fee. Our only disappointment was learning after we arrived at 7:00 am, we could have used our own snorkeling gear (which John encouraged, but was not listed on the website). So take your own and enjoy it all the more.
