I'm a beginning surfer who chose Island Surf Adventures because they offered lessons close to where we were staying. But after my lesson with Nick and visiting other surf beaches, I'm so glad I chose them. He gave us a few instructions on the beach and then assessed our pop-ups. Then while surfing, he gave us one main thing to work on. I had the best and longest rides I've experienced. Note: The waves at Kaanapali beach look weird. They run almost parallel to the shore. But otherwise, they act like regular waves. And because you're surfing almost sideways to the beach, your friends can get really good video of your rides.
Surfing is challenging and strenuous, and a good instructor makes all the difference. I give Nick 5 stars out of 5.

Beyond expectations! Perfect for my 4 kids; especially my 2 little ones. Instructors stayed right next to them in the water and were very patient. They didn’t rush through the lesson and stayed attentive. Highly recommend for families with children.
Group surf lesson is awesome

We did the group lesson. Waves were bigger than normal. Be prepared to paddle using arms out to waves. Instructor Nick was the bomb. He got me up on 4 waves. I’ve never surfed before. It was so much fun. Make sure to tip these guys. They do an outstanding job.
Awesome experience for our 3 kids.

Our three kids ages 9-12 had an awesome time! The instructors were incredibly helpful! I wish I had gotten his name, the back of his shirt said "Drama", he was fantastic with our 2 girls! We couldn't be happier with the experience! Thank you!

NIC was awesome! He was great at explaining the entire step by step instructions to us Midwesterners. He had great patience with the entire group. We loved our experience catching some waves!
