Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute surf lesson for two near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

Eric was wonderful with our two teenage grandsons. They enjoyed this experience very much. Only negative was pricing. Ad said “for two”. But price was EACH. A bit misleading

Our instructor was amazing! He is clearly an extremely experienced surfer and was able to use his expertise to ensure that even the most apprehensive of beginners is able to catch a wave! This was a great way to start our vacation and set the pace for high adventures all trip!

Both my wife and I had a fantastic experience! Day to day surf conditions may differ and our instructor texted us the morning of to inform us of a location change for our lesson. Stephanie, our instructor, was able to bring us up to speed on all the basics quickly. My wife and I were first-time surfers and with Stephanie's guidance, both my wife and I were able to stand up on our boards and ride most of the way to shore on our first try!
Make sure you eat way in advance for these lessons. Eat some bananas! Paddling out to sea was one of the most grueling experiences and I almost gave up several times because my arms were just exhausted. Stephanie also assisted by towing my wife further away from the shore after her arms gave out which was greatly appreciated.
The only con for me was that my arms were not conditioned for the exercise. If I were able to paddle to sea faster, would have been able to catch more waves, have more fun and maybe also be less sore.

We did I private surf lesson with Sharky and he was Amazing! It was the first time for me and my wife and we both were able to catch several waves with Sharky’s help. He was awesome!

Cody was great! My boys surfed before, so this was a great lesson on where to set up and what to look for in the waves. Great location - they caught nice waves and had long rides in for the entire lesson. Highly recommend!

My teenage boys were first time surfers. Izzie was patient and fun. Both boys really enjoyed the lessons. I would recommend it.

Booked the semi private lesson for my two boys ages 19 & 21 on our family vacation. During our stay a cold front hit the islands and we had to reschedule, Rivers to the sea was great at communicating when, where and how to reschedule for later in the week. Ann Marie was their instructor and she was Awesome! Both boys had done a previous lesson when they were younger and wasn’t anything like this time. Both boys had nothing but great things to say about Ann Marie who was a great teacher and helped them ride many waves yesterday. If your looking for a trusted and reliable top notch company then go with Rivers to the sea and ask for Ann Marie! Thank you Ann Marie!!!
