Fantastic and memorable private road to Hana tour

Brilliant day with Terence our guide. From start to finish he made our day truly memorable. As a family we wanted to see all the beauty of this route, but didn’t want the distraction (and likely argument’s!) of driving the busy/windy road ourselves. We chose Makana based on their great reviews and definitely chose well. Terence knew all the best places to go and skilfully avoided the popular tourist spots at the busiest times, meaning we felt like the route was just ours. Terence is a genuine family man with a great outlook on life and brilliant knowledge of the Island and we enjoyed chatting to him throughout the day. We spent around 12 hours together (at least 2 hours more than advertised) and at no time did we feel rushed. He tailored the trip to the activities and pace that suited us. Jumping into and off the waterfalls was a huge highlight, but everything about the whole day was spot on. It’s not a cheap day, but all things considered, we feel we got real value and cannot recommend this tour enough. Do it !

Amazing Trip

We had a fabulous day with Keola. He connected well with our two teens and quickly gauged our family's interests. The scenery was amazing, and it was so relaxing to have Keola driving and managing the flow of the day. His knowledge and willingness to share about the history and culture of Hawaii was an added bonus.

Hana tailored for us

We loved the waterfalls and the foliage. Hana is a beautiful place to visit. Our guide was helpful in tailoring our experience to our specific taste. We had ages ranging from 14 to 65 and all was pleased.

Don't leave Maui without doing this!

We were delighted to have Terrance as our guide. He was amazing and knew so much about the island. As soon as he picked us up we felt comfortable with him. By the time our day was done, we felt like ohana. He knew of some spots that most people wouldn't see had they been driving by on their own so we really had no crowds the entire day. We had pools to ourselves. I'm so glad I didn't have to drive. The road isn't as bad as most say it is but if I was driving I wouldn't be able to see anything other than the road. The banana bread that we got was amazing and we rationed it so we were able to enjoy it for over a week. Definitely take some kind of water shoes because you will be climbing over rocks if you are into jumping in the water. Thank you Demian and Terrance! Amy and Catherine from South Carolina

Amazing Experience

Such an amazing tour. Zak was an awesome, knowledgable guide. He showed us so many cool views and plants. You could tell he really has a passion for this and provided us with so much information and had great recommendations for stops. He drove safe and I usually get nauseous on long car trips and was fine. My husband and I have physical limitations and Zak accommodated to our needs. It rained a lot of our trip, but it was honestly better that way because the waterfalls were even more amazing to see. Would highly recommend!

Excellent Tour

We had the best day with Terence. This was by far the best private tour we have been on and we have done several in various countries. Terence made it a relaxed and comfortable day. He hit everything on our wish list while always showing us many surprises we would have never known to see on our own. He was mindful of our pace and limitations without it ever being awkward. He even extended the tour by 30 minutes to get in one last stop. Don’t hesitate and book this tour!
