Sail, Snorkel, and Paddle the beautiful Wailea coast in a Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe. The tour includes snorkeling with sea turtles, seasonal whale watching, and learning Hawaiian history and culture. Cold water and snorkel gear are provided. Our adventure starts on Polo Beach in beautiful Wailea, Maui, where you will learn first hand about ancient Hawaiian sailing canoe tradition, construction, and navigation. We then launch the Hawaiian Sailing Canoe 'Ke Anuenue' straight from the beach just like the Hawaiians did in ancient times and sail on the gentle Wailea breeze for a unique perspective on the island of Maui.

What a great experience!!
If you are looking for a canoe and snorkel experience on a more personal level, this is the perfect option.
The crew was warm, friendly, WELL experienced, and incredibly knowledgeable about the islands. Our party of 2 were the only ones on board.
I enjoyed the tranquility of the tour, and the option to just sit back and relax was a welcomed surprise.
I will definitely book this experience again!

Real sailing and excellent crew

It was a perfect day for our family of 4 to sail on this beautiful boat. No crowds, no engine fumes. Excellent crew and REAL SAILING! We stopped for some snorkeling and learned about Hawaiin culture and natural history. In the past, we've sailed with Trilogy and others-this was way better-going to go again soon! Highly recommended.
Great Sailing and Snorkeling Morning

Super fun and intimate sailing and snorkeling adventure. Sage was very knowledgeable and it was a lovely morning. Suitable for all ages and ability levels. Our five year old grandson got to snorkel and swim with a turtle - it was the highlight of his trip. Will definitely book this again next time we are in Maui.

Really nice experience. I’m not a water person so I did not snorkel but everyone else in our group did; those that snorkels said it was so so. We did not see any turtles and they said they saw some fish. We all Enjoyed the history/background information shared. Tour guide/owner is very knowledgeable and personable. Helpful pointers: in my haste to put finishing touches on our travel plans I mis read the tour description and thought we would all be participating in rowing the canoe. That is not the case. Just the tour guide rows/sails. We enjoyed our experience nonetheless. Polo beach parking/entrance is past the Fairmont; Apple Maps had us turn into the Fairmont when we plugged in the address. Parking is paved and shady and there are public restrooms here. The tour operator provides a lockbox on the beach for anything you don’t want to take out on the boat. There is also a very small dry box on the boat for phones etc. we brought sunglasses, hats, waters and a GoPro w us onto the boat. You sit on catamaran style nets on your sail; be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen. They do provide all snorkel gear, towels, noodles and life vests if you like. Overall, if you are looking for a sail/snorkel experience this one was very intimate (our group included our family of 4, another family of 2 plus the tour guide and his assistant/daughter) and you get great insight and info from a real local.

We had an EXCELLENT experience with Sage on his sailing canoe. He and his crew were expert sailer/paddlers. When we got out to snorkel he got in as well showing us where to look and pointing out interesting sea life. It was our kids first time and he helped them to feel comfortable and confident. A must do when in Maui!

Perfect way to start our Hawaiian vacation

My wife and I started off our 2 week Hawaiian vacation by taking Maui Sailing Canoe’s Sail, Paddle and Snorkel Tour. Communication about the 8:00 AM tour was excellent prior to our arrival in Maui. We knew exactly when and where to meet and what to bring. It helped that we had a beautiful sunny day for our tour along with calm waters. There are 2 catamaran style nets on which to sit while owner/captain Sage and his crewman paddle and steer in the canoe in between. There were 2 other couples on the tour. We sailed south along the shore and then anchored just off shore. My wife, Sage and another passenger stayed on the canoe while the rest of us snorkeled. I was in the water about a half an hour, checking out the coral and fish. While I was snorkeling, my wife saw a whale breech a good distance from the canoe. After snorkeling, we sailed back north up the shore and made our way back to the beach. Sage, who grew up in Maui, regaled us with stories of growing up in the area along with a little history of the island. It was a very pleasant 2 hour tour and really set the mood for our vacation.

I got exactly what I wanted and needed in being able to paddle, snorkel, and sail. Water was like glass so paddle I did, I decided to swim and listen to the whales but others in the party snorkels for fish and octopus. Relaxing!!!! Great owner and crew. They were like minded and straight up great people! I was able to unwind with a great adventure on the water! I WILL return.
Wonderful and Worth it

My husband set up the activities and I have to admit I was a bit worried about this one, since I’m not a good swimmer and our six year old is still learning to swim. Sage and Sam are extremely knowledgeable that I immediately knew we were in good hands. They had a life vest for the kid, the snorkel gear for us, towels, storage space on the beach for our backpack, and a cell phone “safe box”, since we forgot the water cameras. They took us to a great spot for snorkeling and even the kid got in the water. Which was amazing. He didn’t snorkel but at least got in the water. Being December we got extremely lucky to see a turtle, dolphins, and whales when we were back on the boat. (This of course was not part of the package -unexpected BONUS.) And the fact that it was on a canoe it felt so much closer, and less noisy, than in the bigger boats. We already said, we’ll do it again!
